Kylie woke up around 5:30 this morning, no doubt because of the thunder that’s shaking our house. Yesterday afternoon was a drop-everything-and-go-to-the-park kind of afternoon. Kylie had a blast swinging and climbing and sliding. Her giggles were infectious. We headed home when Jason got off work so that we could play in the back yard with him. Sun on our shoulders. Twirling blades of grass between our fingers. 11:30pm. I need to go to bed. For real.
But I just sorted through/started editing like 500 photos from the weekend. And I cleaned the kitchen/did dishes/swept the floor. And I organized the paperwork that has been piling up and staring me down. I’ve been do productive for the last hour and a halfish that I feel like I need to keep going. Or maybe go draw something. Then I’d really be up ALL night.

Sunny Sundays
I worked in the flower beds. Jason and Gooch constructed an A-frame for the swing my grandfather built. Madison soaked up the sun at our feet.
Kylie supervised the finishing of the A-frame from her chair on the back porch. She was mesmerized at the giant ‘block stacking’ going on in the back yard.

tornado alley.
So there have been two tornados here this morning. One just maybe 1/4 mile east of here, and the other about 1 mile west. It’s pretty loud.
I whisked Kylie out of her crib, and we’ve been chillin in the bathroom, reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and a stack of assorted Dr. Seuss books.
Hello Wednesday.
The wind is blowing so forcefully that I think if I were to set Kylie down in our front yard, she would be carried away.
And that’s saying something… have you seen the rolls on her thighs?
Hopefully this weather will blow on through. It’s Mardi Gras after all. Who spends Mardi Gras inside? Not this girl. I need an Abita Strawberry (or 7) and a king cake with some trashy...
